Come create lasting memories with your loved ones in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and on Lone Star North Farm. Our all-wood cabin is just 0:15 minutes from the entrance of the park. The cabin is positioned next to Carrs Creek and is secluded with no other residence in sight. You can sit back and relax at the cabin, enjoy visiting farm animals, or venture out into town or the park. Either way, the Turkey Cabin is a great place for making memories.
We called our cozy cabin home for three years. The all-wood cabin features antique fixtures and decor inside and out. We now offer it to you and yours to create lasting memories.
Hang out by the firepit and immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and smells of nature. One never knows what one might see, hear, or smell—a bear, a bobcat, a turkey, a groundhog, a woodpecker, rabbits, bats, deer, or wildflowers.
The cabin features a cast iron woodburning stove set upon antique bricks collected from family homesteads. For your comfort, there is also heating and air conditioning. All beds are iron with a primary sleeping area below and a loft for secondary sleeping. The primary sleeping area includes a queen-sized bed and an antique dresser with a mirror. The secondary sleeping area includes an antique full-size bed, two twin beds, small dressers, a mirror, and two dedicated workspaces. The kitchen features an antique cast iron kitchen sink with a built-in drain board, a microwave, coffee pot, stove with oven, and refrigerator. Other features include cathedral ceilings inside and outside on the porch and hardwood floors throughout. All interior walls and ceilings are tongue and groove boards with the bathroom walls constructed of antique pecky cypress. The shower with its endless supply of hot water features rusty tin walls for a rustic appeal that matches the galvanized vanity sink. Cabin décor includes wall mounts in the living area and family heirloom quilts throughout.
If that is not enough and you want to experience a working farm, come join us for chores at the barn or garden, watch our farrier shoe the horses, meet the FAMOUS Dewey the Donkey, or do nothing at all—just wind down and breathe in the mountain air. Still want more? Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are just minutes away.
"Bill and Jamie were perfect hosts. This cabin is just like the pictures, beautiful inside and outside surroundings. Our grandchildren ages 17 and 15 loved the loft to sleep and for their own place. We all enjoyed the porch, the fire pit, and the yard with a private creek. A little bit of Smoky Mt heaven here!"
"There’s not enough stars for how great Bill and Jamie’s place is. We always stay in Townsend for a more peaceful getaway and this little cabin did not disappoint. The place was immaculate. The personal touches in decor, fresh homemade cookies, and a little anniversary gift were so thoughtful...."
The cabin is in Townsend which is away from the hustle and bustle of Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, making it nice and peaceful. Which is just what we wanted. We enjoyed the swing by the creek and having our coffee on the front porch. Meeting the horses and donkeys on the farm was amazing!
